GAULT MILLAU CROATIA: GALA DINNER IN ESPLANADE HOTEL IN ZAGREB AND AN AWARD FOR OUR CHEF MATIJA BREGEŠ

The promotion of the Gault&Millau guide for this year (in Croatian and in English) was held on March 5 in the glamorous Emerald Ballroom in Esplanade Zagreb.

This year’s edition of the famous culinary guide has more than 400 pages. Among carefully and dedicatedly selected and reviewed representatives of catering and gastro offer, there are 150 restaurants, 70 bars and 113 wines from Croatia. When it comes to ranking the restaurants in a certain country, the guide may display one to four toques. This year, Boškinac has been graded with three toques and listed among the best restaurants in Croatia. G&M jury especially appreciates the restaurants that combine seasonal ingredients and traditional recipes with a modern and contemporary lifestyle. They also believe that the key to success in any cuisine is in the people who keep investing their talent and creativity in the food preparation. Thus there are several award categories for the chefs and other culinary staff.

This year, we are very proud to inform you that our chef Matija Bregeš is among the Gault Millau stars in Croatia. As a young and very talented representative of contemporary Croatian gastro and gourmet scene, Matija was awarded a Gault Millau recognition in the “Great Chef of Tomorrow” category.

Boškinac team values this award as a great international recognition. More than anything else, we see it an inspiration and motivation to keep exploring the ways of uniting the culinary tradition and local, seasonal food with modern ways of preparing it and, of course, with great wines. Finally, we see it as a motif to keep investing in our amazing people.
